Default Can't Remove Multifunction Switch Harness

While working to remove the instrument cluster of my 1996 Blazer to replace the blown SES bulb, I ran into an obstacle; the harness of the multifunction switch. I've inspected, pushed and pulled but I can't figure out what's preventing it from being removed. I tried to remove the switch but it looks like someone tried that before and stripped the torx bolt that's to the left of the steering column.
All clues and information are appreciated.
Thanks

I'm not all that familiar with it, but a picture of the connector might help me to try to help you, if not someone else might chime in.
