Default car wont start right up

i have a 96 chevy blazer 4x4 with the 4.3

and when i first go to start it up after i havent drove it for some odd hours, it wont start on the first crank ill usually have to roll it over then stop then roll it over again then stoip and once i do this about 6-10 times it starts to try to crank then after it does that a few times it finally rumbles to life. now i can hear the fuel pump running so i know its working and once it finally cranks it runs, idles, and drives normal. and it only does this if i havent driven for about 3 or more hours long. if i go to the store and pick somthing up it will start right up it only does it if it sits for a lil while. oh and its not bad gas cause its been doing this for a month or so now. and i usually only put chevron gas in it none of the cheap stuff. and it does this no matter how much gas i have in the tank.

any body got any ideas or similiar expieriences?

thanks in advance for help

k i had the exact same symptoms with my 94 and it took me forever to figure it out but here is what i found out.....

im on my 1st 2nd gen blazer...so im not to sure about if its located the same place....but......

on my 94 there was an inlet and outlet tubes goin into the back of the plenum.
what was happening...was the inside the plenum...the inlet tube was cracked.
what it was doing was slowly filling up the inside with gas, in turn flooding it.
i had taken the plenum off to see if i messed up the gasket cuz i had just done the injector...and there it was...all full of gas.

maybe this will point you in the right direction.
on the 94 the tubes were right where the fuel pressure tester was. but when i tested for fuel pressure, the leak was so slow...that it seemed like all was fine.

hope this helps.

Your fuel pump is on the way out, I had the same problem for longer thanI want to remember.
I had to bump start it just as you are describing, finally bit the bullet and changed the pump, first hit every time now.
Get the pump off E-bay from Global I paid less than 100 with shipping.

I'm not sure if the 96 uses the same line connectors at the pump as a 97. I was having so much trouble geting mine loose I finally just cut the nipples on the old pump with side cutters soI could get the tank out of the way, then removed the nipples. Be sure you reconnect to the correct nipples it looks like the two outside ones could be switched by error.
