Default Changing Spark Plugs!

Wow, this is a lot more difficult then I thought it would be. I took the front left wheel off and got the back left spark plug out. (near the master brake cylinder I think) Anyways, I went to go take out the one in front of it, but the steering shaft coming from the steering wheel is right in the way. Like I cannot even just get the socket on the spark plug because the rod is right in the way. How do you guys change these spark plugs?!?!?

I was able to do mine with a shorter deep socket and a wobble extension, but I have also done them with a regular spark plug socket and a wrench.

You can try to move the steering shaft covers, then turn the wheel until the flat on the steering shaft is down giving you the most room possible... It's either those two or disconnecting the steering shaft at the steering box.

Alright I am screwed. How do I remove the power steering shaft. The bottom has this plastic molding around it, and the top has a rubber boot on it. I cut away the red rubber thing in the middle also...

Default RE: Changing Spark Plugs!

Well since I go no replys or any help I just kept at it. I finally after 45 minutes got the #3 spark plug out. I then hand screwed the new one in and put the socket on it and tightened it as hard as I could by hand. I then took a long big headed flat screw driver that fit into the end of the socket and was able to turn the screw driver and that turned the socket which made the spark plug nice and tight. The other two on that side took me 2 minutes to do each. Is there a torque I am suppose to torque them to? I dont have a torque wrench so I just tightened them nice and snug. I went to the other side and got all 4 lugs off my tire and the very last one totally stripped on me. So that was the only thing keeping me from changing the other side of plugs. I will bring it to a local garage tommorrow and have them take the lug off. I hope they dont charge too much to take one lug off. The plugs I took out were champion and the ones I put in were AC Delco Platinums...
