Default Check Engine Light

hey, i'm new to this board. I don't drive a blazer, but i have a 98 oldsmobile bravada...which is basically a blazer. Anyway, here's my question.

The SES light is on and i was wondering how to get rid of the light. I read that some people just disconnect the battery but i was wondering if there is a specific way to actually get rid of the actual light. Thanx for the help guys (and gals).

Default RE: Check Engine Light

You really should find out what is causing the light. By disconnecting the battery, the light will mostlikely come right back. Autozone, Advanced Auto, and other auto parts stores give free code reading. Once you get the codes, post back up and we'll try to figure out what's going wrong.
