Default Check Engine Light P0410

Hello everyone.

So to start off 2013 I have to take my 2000 Zr2 through inspection but i cannot seem to get my check engine light to stay off. The code is P0410 which is secondary air injection system malfunction. I've asked some guys at work that used to have blazers and they have suggested cleaning the air filter and cleaning the MAF Sensor. I've tried both of those but the light came back on within 100 miles of clearing the code.

If anybody has had success with clearing this code your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P0410 Explained (GMT360/370) <-- This thread is the diagnostics chart for that code.

Search for P0410

I have not had this code, but I thought you could start there. I will look for more online.

Your friends were a little off base with their recommendations. The secondary air injection system consists of an air pump, two check valves, and the associated lines to inject fresh air into the exhaust in an effort to improve catalytic converter efficiency.

The most likely cause of this code is water intrusion into the pump causing corrosion. A close second is faulty check valves which also burn out the elbows and cause an exhaust leak under the hood. Use the links above to troubleshoot the code and let us know if you have any questions.
