Exclamation check gauge light comes on

New to this forum. I just bought a 99 blazer ls from a private seller, 85,000 miles. my only concern is that I did not realize when I bought it is the check gauges message that comes on when I turn it on. I did a search and it comes down to either a problem with the pressure in the gas tank or the fuel pump running weak. If anyone here can help on what the problem might be please help!!! I hope it is nothing serious, specially after dropping all my savings on this vehicle. Thanks for the help in advance!

That has nothing to do with the fuel pump/tank. It is a message telling you that one of the critical engine functions is out of spec. It could be that the engine temp is high or the oil pressure is low, or something else. It is a warning to get your attention on the gauge cluster so you can see what is wrong.

But if it is only when you start the truck and it goes out, that is normal.

Arrow light turns off after it starts

Sounds like it is normal them, thanks for the help. My other concern now is the ABS light that seems to come on unexpectedly every now and then. Any guess as to what that might indicate?. On a nicer note I got the engine steamed cleaned yesterday, I will post photos later. Huge difference. Thanks for the help.

For the ABS light you will need to get the ABS codes pulled to be certain of the problem. Though it is likely a bad ABS speed sensor as that is a somewhat common failure item on these trucks.

Anti lock brakes. My 2000 s10had the abs lights on and i found out its very expensive to have it fixed. You can xlean tve abs sensors behind rotors but most likely its the board in the abs box. Instead if paying 1100 dollars for a newbox i took the box out. I then unscrewed all the screws and took a razor blade and carefully cut along the seal. Then i csrefully separated the teo pieces to not damage the board. Ok on the board where the electrical plugs go the pins to the plugs get loose from the board take a small soldering gun and eitber remelt the solder to the pins or re solder them. Your problem will be fixed. Mine hasnt come back on in 3 years. It took me about 45 mins to fix.
