Default Checking trouble codes

Is there anyway to check the trouble codes on my 2000 blazer without taking it somewhere. I know can go to autozone but I'm trying to save a trip. I know a lot of vehicles you have to turn the key a certain number of times or something like that. Thanks in advance.

1996 and newer vehicles are equipped with ODBII and require the use of a capable scan tool or code reader to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes, (DTC's).

Correct, Clutch. Chrysler product owners can do a "key dance" (on-off-on-off-on-off-on) to have the codes show in the odometer area. Unfortunately, GM doesn't have this feature.
