2003 S10 Blazer.

Clanking Noise From Front Drive Shatf/Transfer Case area of my vehicle, but only while in 4hi/lo. It sounds like metal on metal. The frequency it makes the noise increases with vehicle speed. When rotating the driveshaft by hand a small noise can be heard in the tcase.

Any thoughts?

Current plan is to head to a junk yard this weekend and try to find a driveshaft.. Thought I might get some other opinions from people who know more about these things..

is there any play in the cv joint in the front shaft? they are pretty common to have the rubber seal dry up and rip then water gets in there and completely destroys them. i've had it happen more then once now
