Clanking when Braking only, Right Front End. Per Revolution.
Hey. I have a 2000 s10 4wd blazer. 60k original miles. Crappy clanking sound..Details below:
New Replacements:
tires
shocks
ball joints
brakes
rotors
fuel pump
Problem may seem similar to other posts, but doesnt seem to be resolved. If i slightly apply the brake, i get an immediate clank sound in the right front end, as if a piece of metal slid into something and made a sound as they hit together. It only seems to happen when the vehicle is in a forward momentum. As i slow down, the right front makes a scratchy/clanking sound per revolution of the wheel. This is the only time it does that horrible noise, When i slow down, half apply the brake. Any advice would be great.

Are all the bolts tightened down on the caliper?
I know it seems odd...but i had a similar issue and i didnt tighten one bolt enough and the caliper was loose and flopping back and forth at stops..

Would that cause the noise when the wheel turns? I can make it happen at like 5mph too. Just when brake is applied. Imagine 2 metal planks...if u bang them together, u get that clanking noise. Thats what happens the first instant i apply the brake. Like if i quick hit the brake, u can hear it. Ill have to check the bolts.

Hey. As an update...i checked the wheel. No chewing up. Took it to another guy...he couldnt find anything after taking the wheel off. I guess someone has to get into the front brake or something and check it out. This drives me nuts, its all i can think of when i drive.

Front bushings?
I get the same noise, same conditions in my father's S10 2WD 2006 cabin crew (Brazilian). In my case, one of the suspension arms bushings in gone (or the bolt, I had just look it).
It is easy to check: hang the wheel from the upper part and pull out several times (strong). If clanks, ask someone to look suspension. If not, lift the truck, put on supports and do the same. If clank, again ask someone to look.
Best regards
