You said that the noise is coming from the back. Is that the case or does it change when you put it into 4wd?

I cant really tell to be honest, seems middle. now when I switch to 4wd it seems like the bang-bang-bang avery 1/4-1/2 turn of the wheel (unless im going straight) seems to be in back...

But can the u-joints cause that in 4wd? im leaning toward t-case, but the light rattle/vibration seems weird nut doesnt sound bad like the loud *** ticking thanks swarikk

It could be a combination of problems like I sort of eluded to earlier. If you are hearing the problem directly under you, then it is possible that the joints right near the transfer case are bad on both the front and rear driveshafts.

I would pull the driveshafts out and literally move the joints to feel how well they move. It should be a nice, smooth movement.

As far as the t-case goes... I'd have to think on that for a bit... I'm going to be pretty inaccessible for the next few days though.

also it vibrates at 55-65 when i press on the gas looking into the vibrating thing i guess that is common, I need new tires badly,

Now they said to test the transfer case, put in 4hi and grab the driveshaft and see if it turns it shouldnt, now mine turns like a half inch and when i pull it there is very very slight give, now is this bad u joints or should there be very slight give like this in the driveshaft under the drivers floorboard? Thanks you guys
