Clutch Fan Hell
Ok I have a problem you guys and gals might be able to help me with
Truck is a 96 s-10 blazer LT, 4.3 Vortec...
Now my problem is as the title says, i am in clutch fan hell... I need to replace the waterpump and for some god awful reason, I can get the clutch fan off to get the the damn pump...
there were 4 10mm bolts that connected the pulley for the serpintine to the pump itself that i took off and was able to move the pulley, yet no go on the moveing the clutch fan off of it... there seems to be a center shaft i would say is 1 1/2 inch hexed that connects to the pump and for the life of me i have no clue from here on in how to get it off...
Suggestions and or a good wreckingball are welcome

I used a strap wrench on the water pump pulley and a large enough size crescent wrench on the nut but I think the actual size is 38mm. Just did this to a 98 Blazer LS 4WD myself and the nut was right-handed.
Also, can get the "special tools" at NAPA.

This is digging one up from the grave...
As spelled out in quite a few other threads on the subject, you can do it without special tools. But you can also "rent" the tools from your local Autozone and I am sure others...
