coolant

I should runs AC Delcos correct? Should I run the green dexcool or can I go with a diff brand?

Dexcool is Orange. Green is just regular. These engines are designed to run with DexCool; there are many people around here who have never had a problem with it. As it was said, it was the design flaw int he gaskets, not the antifreeze

Still not gonna run it. Its called death cool for a reason right? I understand what ur saying about the gaskets, but im still not running that coolant in my truck

Got everything done. Also did the distributor b.c it was pretty corroded. I used the prestone 50/50 coolant, its yellowish/green and the guy at autozone said you could mix it with any coolant, and it wouldnt turn into peanut butter... After I got everything done tho, I noticed for the first few minutes of driving, you can hear what sounds like running water coming from the front. What could that be?

Probably air. Did you burp/bleed the system after you filled it?
Let it cool, open the cap, start it up again. Let it run until the t-stat opens, filling it while it burps/bubbles. Shut it off, let it cool. Do it again.

You probably have air in the coolant system or a partially plugged heater core. Raise the front end with the passenger's side slightly higher, open the radiator cap and run the engine up to operating temp. Let it cool and repeat while keeping an eye on the coolant in the radiator. Add more coolant as necessary to fill it. If it still has the noise after that, then you most likely will need to flush the heater core.
