Default Coolant Leak

My previous thread was asking about replacing the freeze plug that is above the starter because I was getting coolant running off of my oil pan from off of the starter. With his symptoms being the same as mine, Red 96' has a tutorial on replacing that freeze plug. So, after jacking up the blazer and taking the tire off, I looked directly up into the starter area and had my son pour water into the radiator. I find that the stream is definitely coming from above the freeze plug and the plug is kind of on the edge of the stream.

Is this a LIM gasket or head gasket or could it be anything else? It is not the water pump or upper or lower radiator hoses or the heater hoses.

look up top and make sure it's not an intake bolt, some if not all are threaded into a water jacket. I ran into that problem once. Make sure it's not the weep hole on the water pump even tho it doesnt look like it. If you really want to find it take the starter off and have a look. Should be easy to tell where it starts. Coolant rolls down hill.

Thanks Andrew01991, I didn't think to check manifold bolts and I will be checking them today. I have gone up down and all over the water pump and hoses and none are leaking. The leak is definitely towards the firewall and on the passenger side. A bolt would be a much easier fix than replacing a gasket.

Just a thought here. Put two new screw type clamps on your heater hose connections at the firewall. A leak here will run along the bottom of your hose(s) and drip onto the engine then down the rear. I paid a Dealer a little over $60.00 to learn this.
