Default Coolant leaking under A/C on '98 ZR2

I have a '98 Blazer ZR2 with the V6 and the coolant is leaking out at the connection that's underneath the A/C compressor. Looks like some type of pipe - it has the black plastic heat wrapping weave over it, and it feels like a solid pipe underneath it. I can't find out what it is on any site (lmctruck, etc).

Anyone know what part this is? I need to replace it and/or fix the leak.

It looks like the EGR pipe (#1 in this diagram): http://www.gmpartseast.com/diagrams/...ts03582101.png

Would it be leaking coolant?

The tube is for EGR gasses to pass through from the exhaust mainfold for the EGR valve. Coolant does not pass through it, however, the lower intake manifold gasket is directly below the fitting, and it is very common for it to leak coolant there.

Any recommended gaskets/upgraded gasket material to use? Or just use OEM?

The OEM style gaskets are inferior. If you use them, it will leak again. To eliminate the problem, you need to eliminate the root cause. Use the Felpro MS98002T intake manifold gasket set only. It is a redesigned gasket that will not leak if proper clean up, prep work, tightening sequences, and torque specs are used.

Thanks Hook! I got that Felpro p/n for it + replacement intake manifold bolts. I also read the ignition coil is a high output from the factory starting with the 2nd gen Blazer. Dealer wanted $950 to change the gasket. I found a great set of videos here if anyone else is looking to do this:
