Default coolant smell

Hello, bit of a noob here, i own a 2005 Blazer absolutely love it, however every start up i smell coolant through the vents, what is the possible cause of this? Also when driving in summer on a particular warm day it tends to overheat, thank you in advance.

The two most likely causes are a heater core leak or the LIM gaskets. Do the windows fog up on defrost? Is the carpet wet anywhere up front?

Heater core would be my vote. Had mine go out twice. Not a fun job, but a bit expensive if you have a shop do it.
