Crankshaft Sensor??!03 LS
Hey there...My blazer has been acting up if I apply toomuch gas...The tack starts flicking around like crazy and the engine seems to bog out then the engine light comes on.Once i turn the engin off and on a couple times and am sure not to bog it out again the engine light turns off. My frined ran a diagnostic:it and he said it came up as The Cranckshaft Sensor..Are these easy to replace and expensive???I thought it was going to be the transmission forsure...any suggestions or ideas would be great...Thanks!!

The sensor itself is not all that expensive, nor is it all that difficult to replace. You should have a Crank Variation relearn procedure done so that the PCM can calibrate itself to the new sensor for precise location reporting of the crankshaft.
What was the code?
What was the code?

I have to do the same thing with my 01 blazer. I just put a new jasper motor in and it pushes a P0301 code. (#1 cylinder misfire) After weeks of trouble shooting, it came down to the crankshaft sensor. I have not taken it down to a dealer yet to have it case learned but that is the only way to do it unless you have a high end scan tool. I will let you know if this fixes the problem.

I replaced my crankshaft sensor in my 96 S-10 blazer and had a learn proceedure done and it seemed to fix that problem. Thanks again Kyle

RE: Crankshaft Sensor??!03 LS
Tech2 or equivalent scan tool is required for a relearn.

RE: Crankshaft Sensor??!03 LS
would this cause the ecu to not send a ic signal if it is not done?

I take it this is part of your other problem... I will respond to your other thread. Your question really has no bearing on this thread at all.
