A search for CV band yielded nothing. The driver side inner (large) CV boot band is dangling in the breeze. The boot appears to be intact. Want to grease and replace the band. Does anyone know what size I should be getting?

 

I don't know the size but since it is off and you want to re-grease it, I'd suggest you consider removing the axle and replacing the boot with a neoprene one. I did this with a kit from NAPA. The kit comes with all that you need and the neoprene boots are better.

Also, if the original boot has slipped off, it is likely because there is damage to the inside of the boot allowing it to come loose.

 

Agreed that may be the way to go. I have to get in there and really inspect. The boot was not displaced and is semi-tight even w/o the strap. It may have just recently come loose with few miles in between.so we'll see.
