Crazyc775-Photos and schematics are here on this site.When I thought I had an IAC issue,as soon as I pulled everything apart to replace the IAC-BOOM there it was! Very evident that was the problem! Got a new plastic fitting and all was fine(yes dealer-$) but got to return the IAC to NAPA uninstalled! Best of luck to you!

 

Based on my symptoms and the information provided, possible it could be the camshaft position sensor? The truck intermittently idles rough. Seems to bog down while driving hitting the gas gets some hesitation or skipping feeling. Not famiar with this part, but read somewhere it could be. Thoughts?

On a different note, how do you know if your tourque converter is bad or going bad?

You will see it once you pull all intake plumbing out-but once you pull the lines to the IAC it will be right in your face(but hidden under:vacuum lines!) As I stated I almost replaced the IAC and found that plastic unit to be cracked! Saved BUX!

 

It sounds like it to me.

OP: when you say "extensive work" does any of that involve the intake? Have you done the throttle body mod? if your butterfly becomes damaged in a way that allows too much air to flow in it will cause this condition also. (ie missing rivet from the half moon) Good luck.

 

So, really no major change in the previously mentioned conditions, however it does seem that most of the problem with power is on low end and take off. Almost like a very faint stutter until it gets to speed, then it seems to be ok....decent.

Continue to be at a loss....help!

Anyone have an update on this problem? I have the same issue but with a manual trans, so
It gets really annoying pulling up to a stop light with the engine revving at 2k until I stop.
