Default Dashboard Lights

Newbie here to this forum.

Just purchased a '98 LT Blazer (150k on the clock) and outside of the instrument cluster, none of the dash lights work except for the rear window defroster switch. Fuse #5 is good and my first thought is bulb replacement. However the 3 previous trucks I had were purchased new and never had interior issues so I have no clue where to start. The only other electrical issue is that the power mirrors don't work. I'm sure that requires a switch replacement but I'd thought I'd throw that in.

Any help would be nice.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your radio, HVAC controls, & headlight switch have all experienced a lamp failure. I'm not sure about the headlight switch, but I know that the radio & hvac controls have the bulbs soldered to the circuit board.

I am currently waiting for replacement bulbs to arrive to complete this repair on the hvac control module in my '04 Tahoe that has a few bulbs out and others that are intermittent. $15 for 10 off eBay.com CorvetteRadios.com also sells bulb packages for various applications.

Thanks for the responses, it was sort of the information I expected to hear. I'll put that issue on a "low priority" status but was hoping there may of been a simple solution. I'll keep a flashlight in the truck for awhile.

After a weekend of doing the normal stuff after buying a used vehicle (brakes, belt, filters, fluids...etc), I have quite a bit of questions to ask and will post them up with appropriate thread subjects. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on this one for $600.00. This truck is in really decenent shape and very minor mechanical issues (soon to be posted), the truck was a part of a divorce settlement in which getting rid of it was the main issue that I was luckey to fall into.

This site is pretty awesome, well organized. I'm a frequent visitor/poster on BMW forum sites, but this one has to be the most informative.

Be posting soon.
