Exclamation Distributor repair

'98 Blazer Base 4-Door

Is there a way to repair the plastic tabs on the distributor where the distributor cap screws in? I know I can replace the distributor itself, but is there some other shortcut that might be less expensive?

I would be very interested to know how to repair those.. I snapped both in half by mistake. The screws barely hold, so I have mine held on by zip ties for the time being lol. Seems to be holding very well! Im going to be replacing the whole distributor assembly soon.

Nohting I am aware of to fix the plastic distributor housing when the screw bosses split and fall-off except replace with an aluminum housing distributor.....which seem to be cheaper in cost than the plastic ones..???

Temp fix is to put one or two plastic wire ties around the distributor cap and base. Be sure to check the plastic tie every once in awhile as the heat will cause the tie to break.

Chevy GM V6 4 3 L Vortec Distributor WPM vor 71 BK | eBay

There not as expensive as you might think. Have heard of people Using JB weld and other epoxy's to form a solution. Not sure if JB makes a putty.
Everyone has just been changing them to aluminum with good success. Under 50$ or hundreds for GM plastic?
