Default Driver door hinge problem

I have rooted around looking for what the hinges are supposed to look but haven't had any luck. Here is the picture of my upper hinge. I can lift the door quite a bit as the hinge isworn out. I feel like there is a missing bushing on the top hinge on the very top. Why would the truck be designed to wear on only the metal in the hinge? Especially on welded hinges. Any input or pictures af a good hinge? It's worn on the top and bottom but far worse on top. 99' Blazer 4 dr

I can only find one picture to compare too and it looks like the door side just rides on the pin. That seems stupid to put 2 hard metals together allowing the door hinge to potentially egg.

There's a ceramic bushing that each pin goes through. It's really common for the bushings to get worn out and break. Hopefully it hasn't ovaled out the pin hole and you can just replace the bushings. The kits are only $15 or so.

In the pictures on the very top (where you can see space around the pin) is where a ceramic bushing goes?

Yes, there should be a bushing in there. I would bet that it has been that way for a while and the bushing broke into pieces and fell out. Cheap fix but tough to do if you don't have a 2nd set of hands.

just go to any parts store (Advance Auto, Auto Zone, and so on) it's a common part that they'll surely have

use to be both upper and lower pins in a single kit years ago, but now it seems everyone sells them by single pin which is STUPID... but they're about $10 a pin (with new bushings and all) and you'll need two for each door

There's a ton of write ups on how to do the whole job. In fact that's how I found this forum after I was charged $220 to do one side. Damn right I did the other side myself but mostly with the people here and on S10. Although this is the main spot.
