Let us know what you find with the rear brakes. That noise can be serious and shouldn't be ignored. Obviously you aren't. The 'usual suspect' is the wheel bearing hubs. But it could be many other things that cause that esp. with 4WD. It is good to start with the little items that are often ignored. When you check the brakes, be sure to look at the dust shield or splash shield on each wheel. These sheet metal shields are behind the calipers and protect the brakes from water and gravel being thrown up from the road. Sometimes they get bent and then rub against the other brake parts and cause noise. Sometimes gravel gets lodged behind the shield and cause noise. Remove and clean them and inspect for abrasion and bends. This is the time to replace them with the brakes apart. They are not extremely expensive.
Usually the front brake pads last 2 times longer than the rear. On the S10 Blazer this is not always the case. The rear calipers tend to freeze up and then the rear 'emergency brake cables' can freeze up esp. in salt in the winter areas. These two items will cause more wear on the rear brakes. Some on this list recommend replacing the rear calipers as a routine part of a brake job!
