Default Drivers side windows stuck lowered

Looked around the forum can't find the exact answer related to my question. Anyways, I have a 96 blazer with power everything. I was just driving and parked then tried to roll my driver side window up and nothing. No sounds or humming coming from motor so I would assume that the motor went out? window had been working fine all day. All other mirrors work fine including all other switches around the component. I also had replaced both my power mirrors and now they only move down after putting the door panels on. I replaced the switch for the mirrors but still nothing. Could both of these issues be related to each other? They didn't happen at the same time. Mirrors were a week prior. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you knocked a connector loose when you installed the panel. The window should make a slight clicking noise if it's getting power and just went bad. This would be the internal autoretting circuit breaker in the motor. You have to listen pretty close. If you can't hear it, then you probably have no power to the switch. The pink wire is the hot to all switches in this circuit and you might have to pull the panel to see what the problem is. You might try pulling up on the window while working the switch a little at a time. These usually just don't go out all at once. They give you some warning like they run slower and slower as the motor is fading out. If you have broken clips (plastic guides) it can make the window crooked to the point it jams. You have one in the front on the bottom and one in the back on the top of your window. Check these. It;s a cheap fix. The parts are only about $5.00 for both clips.

I guess get back to here and either me or someone else will jump in with some suggestions. There's always plenty of help here.

i'd verify you're getting power to the switch and the motor. there is a white plastic tab on the one of the motor. chances are if your getting power to the motor and your window isn't moving your window motor is shot. but like said above they usually give a little warning. mine was working intermettely then just crapped out, luckily in the up position.

*if the window motor is shot there is a few things you need to know before you remove it, so let us know what you find.

Yes. You can get hurt real bad if you just press on if you've never done one before.

yeah especially if that spring unwinds when the window is down. if you get the window up its not as much of a worry

So I just started my car and the window was working fine. An ofcourse I took advantage of it and it did it again. It always craps out about one inch before te window is all the way down. Haven't been able to pull the door panel yet but there is no clicking sound from the motor but all the three other windows ork fine. Another thing, how would I go about fixing my power mirrors while I'm there since the panel will be off anyways?

you replaced the mirrors? or the switches to the mirrors. the switches go bad in these because of moisture reasons. you can take them apart and clean the contacts with contact cleaner

I replaced the mirrors and they didn't work but only moving down did. So ten then I replaced the switch for them and still the same thing. So I know it's not the switch. All fuses are fine and working.
