Hi guys i just discovered this site while searching all over for a fix to my problem. i have a 1995 blazer 2dr 4x4, the problem i'm having is my drl kept shorting out my illum fuse. i opened my dash to look at the wiring and found no shorts. it is hard for me to word this correctly so bare with me.

when my drl use to work i noticed they didn't work off my parking light switch but actually off my dimmer switch, when i opened the dash i saw that the brown wire for the drl also went into the headlight/parking light switch.

here is a picture i found of how it is set up

so i'm wondering if it is the headlight switch went bad and it is drawing all the power through the dimmer switch for the drl that is causeing my problem......because i don't get any power from my headlight switch to the brown wire.......i tried combining the brown(drl) with the yellow(headlights) to get power to the drl when it is dark and i have my headlights on and it worked for several hours but then i noticed the headlights just flicker now and it sounds like it is trying to arc inside the headlight switch....i have since just left it alone with the wires out till i can get a lil help

There should be a DRL relay in the fuse box under the hood. I would check that first before anything further with wiring in the dash.

Im thinking that the drl wire there only wants power when the headlights are on. I think its more to signal the DRL module to shut off the DRL and run the headlights off the switch and its relays.
