Default Engine compartment gets hot

I just got a 99 Blazer and had to replace the radiator and have the tranny rebuilt. All through this I have noticed that the right side of the engine compartment get really hot. Is this normal? I searched for this but found no mention. I did replace plugs, wires, rotor and cap. The AC works the heater works. I have no coolant leaks but do seem to have either an oil leak or a power steering leak, I have not had enough time to trace that out yet. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is?
