Default Engine Cranks, but doesn't start

Hi,

I have 2001 Blazer 4W 4.6 Engine. Here's my situation. I left my house, got about a mile up the street, and the Blazer stalled and know it won't start. It cranks, but no turn over.

Here's what I've done:

1. Checked spark from each wire, using the spark plug against the chassis test. Produces an orange spark from each wire.

2. Replaced both the ICM and the Ignition Coil

3. Checked all relays and fuses. At least all the ones I imagine would be involved.

4. Checked that fuel is at least getting to the engine, using the test port, fuel comes out of the pin.

5. Examined Cap and Rotor. Look fine. Replaced a year ago.

6. Fuel pump does engage when key is turned and disengage when key is turned off.

I have not checked fuel pressure yet, or replaced cap and rotor.

Two things to note, probably not related, but I figured I mention anyway. Just before this happen, my left turn signal started blinking rapidly, where as the right one blinks normally, never did that before the day the Blazer cut out on me. Also I pulled two codes from the ODI scanner. P0131 & P0151.

I know both are O2 related, but from my understanding this should not produce the crank, not start issue.

Other than checking the fuel pressure, is there anything else I can check that would lead to fixing this?

Thanks for the help

Peter

Sounds like you just about got it. Check the fuel pressure (should be around 60 PSI with the engine off) and the replace the O2 sensors. Most vehicles use adaptive strategies for dealing with inperfections in sensors; so ahead and disconnect the battery before you do the work or you could end up with the same check engine light. A bad or failing sensor will leave an imprint on the computer for how it should see sensor and may even give you the same codes for the sensors, by disconecting the battery it will reset the computer.

Thanks. I'm headed to AutoZone in a few.

So you think the O2 sensors would cause the crank but no start issue?

Also what do you think of the orange spark as oppose to blue. Some reading on the forums suggest that it should be blue to be correct.

Yeah an orange spark sounds weak. They should be bright blue almost white.
