Default Engine stalls while driving. Intermittent problem.

Are there any issues that could cause something that would appear as shutting the ignition off/on while driving?
To me it sounds like improper grounding/battery connection, or a broken wire to an ignition module or similar. Anyone got any experiences like that?

The engine just cut while driving, and the gauges/lights in the dash flashed like they do when you turn the ignition on in the morning. First time this happened was after hitting a bump in the road. Engine starts right up afterwords.

It's a 98' 4wd S10 Blazer

Could be an ignition switch problem. VERY common on 1997 as the switch was unique to that year, but it can happen to any of them. https://blazerforum.com/forum/articl...-switch-33465/

Thanks, Just found a new one on e-bay, so we'll see if it does the trick.

Replaced the ignition switch, and the car seems to be working perfectly fine. Even the windshield wipers, which sometimes seemingly had a life of its own, are now behaving according to switch position.

Might also mention that when the car stalled, and was refusing to start, one could hear sort of a slow whirring noise coming from below the drivers seat (assuming it was the fuel pump). This noise dissappeared after the ignition switch replacement.
