Default EVAP Fuel Vent help

Spec:

96 Blazer LT 4.3L v6 4dr

Ok here is the problem i am having:

I ran into sending the truck out to replace my gas tank and with thatreplace the sending unit/pump with a new Delphi unit.

now igot the vehicle back and it came up with a P0440 EVAPsystem (found code description in my haynes manual)

I sent it to another mechanic closer by and found out that the fuel vent on the tank had snapped and needs to be replaced

My question:

Can anyone describe in word or even pics of what the part looks like and how to remove/install a new one? (searched the haynes manual and came up with nothing )

Help be very greatful

Thnaks all

on your 96 you should have 2 of them in each corner of the tank. If this all happened since the tank was dropped my guess would be that one or both of these vent valves were broke during the tank drop-although this may be tough to prove and it also depends upon the 'deal' you got from them for doing the job. Anywho..tank will have to be dropped again-you'll probably visually see which(or both) valve is the issue. They turn counterclockwise a half a turn or so and pop out Install is the reverse. Good luck. JP[X(]

Default valve

I only have one front driver side. I have the same code. I have Alldata for this truck and it shows the canister vent valve.

4.3 L

However I don't see it Any ideas where it hiding

In the pick it is #1 that i seek.

i just took mine appart and cleaned it out--- hope it worked. anywho, mine (2003) i actually located in the back of the vehicle, above the tank. i had to drop the plastic tank shield to make it easier to get at with an easy reach just above the rear axle. basically, unplug wiring, disconnect the plastic vent tube and carefully slide the whole assembly out sideways towards the drivers side back tire. from your schematic above, it seems like the same thing as mine. good luck.
