evap stuff
trying to pass calif smog. emissions are great but--evap system is leaking, put new lines and tested between canister and purge valve (in engine compartment) tests good. smog tech says its leaking around the top of the tank. i lowered the tank and removed the rubber lines and they look good.also should there be some kind of seal around what looks like the vent outlet? i'm stumped! THIS IS A 95 S-10 4WD V-6 LS MODEL ANY--IDEAS WILL HELP
Please have patience.
I would be careful with putting that much pressure into a system that typically is under vacuum. You may cause more problems than you solve.
With some pressure in the system, trace along all of the lines with a mechanics stethoscope (or a modified medical stethoscope if you have one). This will help you locate the leak.
If you think the leak is on top of the tank, you will have to drop it down until you can see what is going on up there at the very least.
