Factory keyless entry/alarm operation

My 2002 4 dr LS Blazer came with an aftermarket alarm system with key fobs....both of which have stopped working....so I removed the alarm this morning.
So know I am wondering about and if the factory system will work, what the remotes even look like and just what does the factory system even do? I know it locks/unlocks the doors remotely, but does it also sound the horn if someone opens the door?
I tried looking the doors with the button on the door, then shutting the door, then reaching through the door window and unlocking the door....nothing from the horn....and yes it works.
So can someone give me a brief operation summary and show me what the remotes look like? There are some on ebay, but do not trust them to have the correct one.
Thanks

The GM factory keyless entry system is just a convenience option - it will lock and unlock the doors and pop the rear . To match up some replacement remotes there should be a small black module under the dash with an FCC number on it that will be the same as the remote You need . The module number will end in (R) the remote number will end in (T)
R = receiver
T= transmitter
EDIT : receiver module location will be found usually on the driver side dashboard area or maybe kickpanel locations - You will know when You've found it . There is an FCC ID code number sticker on it identifying it

Further searching and I was able to verify that the vehicle does have the PKE system and I was able to get the alarm to work...so that is all good.
As far as the receiver module location....driver's side, center, passenger's side....any hints???
