i had my fuel pump replaced 4 months ago here in maine, 50 mile tow, and a new air pump put in, i had the air pump, but that bill was 1,300 bucks. id kill to find a mechanic to do the job for 680!!! and the fuel pump just died out again on me. the one that was replaced was the original one, or so im told, if so 13 years is a long life for a fuel pump i think. but this one gave me 4 months...so i guess the one the mechanic got was from one of them 3rd world countries...

the one they put in was probably a aftermarket. They dont last for **** in these blazers. Best thing to do is buy the pump from the dealership,or rockauto and bring it to them, maybe it voids the warranty, but you know its a very slim chance it'll go bad.

all i know is it came from napa...whats weird about my situation is, the mechanic is 20 miles away, the only guy i trust to touch my truck besides myself, and ive given him over 5k for repairs, updates, etc, but the problem is that the only auto parts store is in the town i live in. so whenever he has to go get parts i normally go get them and bring them to him, saves me coin, and the time waiting for the parts to come in.

i was actually in nogales for 4 months with the national guard in 2008 improving the roads along the border for the border patrol...prices were crazy cheap down there. the 2 bedroom duplex i was in fully furnished, everything included was $900/month in rio rico. here for a 3/bed nothing included w/ 1 acre yard is 875/mo...things would be sooo much cheaper...but im a die hard ice fisherman, and id be lost without snow
