Question Finally got the new engine in, BUT.......

i just got the replacement engine in my 1999 blazer s10 4x4, got everything hooked up, got fluids in it, was putting the antifreeze in and went to start it so i could completely full it with AF, nothing, no starter click, no fuel pump noise. but heres the weird s**t, with the key in and on, the starter will not try to turn at all, the solenoid for it will not do anything, ive checked all the fuses, and wiring. theres power to the starter from the battery, theres power to the solenoid in the engine bay fuse block, all the fuses that have to do with starting/charging are good. AND when you turn the key back to the off position the fuel pump kicks on for 2-3 seconds. any help?

Question

Have you checked the ground strap on the harness that bolts to the firewall? It bolts up on left side of three relays with 10mm bolt.It might just be a black wire or braded,

its a braided cord and it is on. theres also one black wire going from the passengers side of the engine, to the left of the lower crank shaft that goes straight to the negative battery terminal. theres another ground wire by where the fuel lines come up behind the engine that bolts to the block. it is definitely grounded.
