so
I used super duty Fel-Pro gaskets on our rebuild and its leaking oil.
I'm told it's because we ran the A/C before the engine got broke it.
can anyone confirm that?
looks like leaking from where the front of the oil pan mounts up to the bottom of the timing cover (new)

I don't really know why you was told that as the ac shouldn't have any affect - but i'll almost bet you read the instructions with the gasgets and put them in dry no RTV - always add RTV to the corners at least a inch or two back on the gasket and the half moon on the main rear bearing and the timing cover - don't ask me why I know

That is a pretty common place for them to leak if you put the gasket in dry, seen it many times on here.
like odat said, putting them in dry usually does not work, some people get lucky.
Use some rtv and you will be good.
As for running the AC, who ever told you that, either find a new mechanic, or if its a friend, lightly and friendly hit them.. with a shovel.

I had my motor rebuilt 2yrs ago had the same leak from the timing cover, they tried to save a buck by using aftermarket timing covers twice, two different brands . they finally used a Gm timing cover, you could see that the gasket seal was a large bead of some type of sealant. no more leak

I called Federal Mogul tech. they need to fix their directions.
He said yea they dont want people putting RTV all over the place but yea you gotta put some in the corners
