Default fried security system ?

got to work as normal and tried to lock the car with the remote but it wouldn t lock,
thought battery in keyfob was dead so tried the spare, still nothing. now the security light
on the dash is on solid and the keyfob doesn t turn off the anti theft system.all other stuff
on the car still work, keyfob just stopped talking to the security system, expensive fix ?

If neither of the key fobs work, you have nothing to loose if you try to reprogram them to the vehicle. There's a good write up somewhere on this site - search for 'fob' and you should find it. If the vehicle does not respond properly when you try to put it into reprogram mode, something might be wrong with the BCM or the RKE receiver.
