Front axle question
So, after hearing a popping sound in my front end, for months now, I'm pretty sure it's my driver's front axle(I've changed the ball joints, sway bar bushings, idler arm, and both hub assemblies).
Anyway, at Advance, they're not sure if I need the axle that says it's for everything EXCEPT the T-15, or the other one, that says Wide Track.
I ASSume the first one, and bought that one, but I've got to drive way out in the country tomorrow, to my buddy's garage, since mine's not got sufficient heat(and it's ZERO here today!).
So do you guys know which axle I need? "Wide Track" is a new (non-Pontiac) phrase to me.

Great. I'd never heard Wide Track, in reference to Blazer/Jimmys. So, while we're on it, I always thought with Blazers, that ~S-10~ referred to the smaller Blazers(not fullsize), and ~T-15~ was the Jimmy equivalent. Is that NOT true?
Because Advance acted all confused about ~T-15~, and when I told them that I thought it just meant the Jimmy version of S-10, they acted like I had no idea what I was talking about. Who's right, me or them?

Do not take the descriptions that most parts stores have to heart. T=4wd and S=2wd for the most part. Look at your VIN, position 5 IIRC. These trucks are called S/T trucks even after the S-10 moniker was removed from the name. As far as the fullsize trucks go, they are C/K's with C=2wd and K=4wd. Again, it is part of the VIN.
