Front Brakes Dragging
My 95 blazer 4x4 front disc brakes are dragging. Sometimes I can feel them holding the truck back when driving and I can smell that burning brake smell. Other times they're fine. The last time they were dragging I jacked up the front end and tried to turn the front wheels and both sides were hard to turn.Came back in about an hour and both wheels turned freely. Why would both sides drag at the same time and then turn freely at the same time? Calipers, brake hoses, master cylinder, proportioning valve,ABS.
Thanks for any help

the calipers when heated up are staying partially applied check to make sure the calipers are releasing and check the front hoses..i have seen them allow fluid through but collapse and not let enough fluid back out causing brake drag.
When they are dragging open the bleed screw. If it stops dragging the hose has collapsed inside and is acting like a check valve and not letting all of the pressure release when you let off the brake. I would be surprised to see both sides do this at the same time though.
yeah, i'd be surprised too terry. take out your slide pins, clean them really well, and reinstal them with some Cop-A-Slip from Moly Slip-best brake component lube out there (been using it since Christ was a dude rancher).
After you clean & lube as old skool said then you can put the caliper back on with out the pads. Then the caliper should slide easily back & forth if all is ok with the pins etc.
Were they dragging before that?
I had two calipers freeze up on a Toyota Camry after doing a pad and rotor replacement on it. Crap loosened up in the lines when I pushed the pistons back in and was fed back into the calipers, making them stick.
