My door was frozen shut this morning..I yanked it open. It will not shut now. The door latch mechanism (where the bar goes into the metal parts and latches shut) is stuck down. It won't move back up. I went to the passenger side to look at how it works, I pushed that one down and it will not go back up either..It's snowing outside and I need to fix this..HELP
thanks

Just try and open the door handle like it was closed and you were trying to get it to open. That may do the trick.

You may have to heat the latch mechanism to free it up. Sounds like you got some water in around the latch and it has frozen it up good...

Got it solved! I found out if you hold the handle up and get a screwdriver you can push the lock mechism back into position. Of course I found this out an hour later..after the inside of my blazer is covered in an inch of snow. Oh well. Thanks

Ah ok. I was misunderstanding your situation. I thought the latch was stuck 'open', not 'closed'.
Glad you got it fixed!
