Glad your making progress. I'm "wired" for proper analysis and a targeted fix, not parts swapping but it would appear that most people actually prefer the later.

The problem was
After trans was installed both wires on the circuit tested open, as if the shop forgot to plug in a connector, or possibly broke both wires. I traced continuity of those wires from pump connector up to the connector on left side of trans. Couldn't go higher, no room. Had continuity. Then tested from that point to computer, and circuit was open. Problem somewhere above trans. Wasn't going to drop trans. So I ran completely new wires from the chassis harness up to the computer in the engine compartment. If your going to do it, I STRONGLY suggest hard wiring (soldering) your new wires in. Cut the wire, don't tap into, it may be intermittently grounding, that would cause issues. I STRONGLY recommend using shrink tube to protect your soldiered connection. Do it once, do it right. Butt connectors can fail, they can also corrode. Not worth the chance.
KEEP IN MIND my pump is less than 1yr old, and I pulled pump, tested the pump float by putting ohmmeter on the 2 wires for the sending unit, raised the float and watched the resistance change on meter. It was fluent, not jumpy, tested it up and down many times, looking for intermittent failure. That verified a good sending unit. If your pump is old, it may very well have a bad sending unit, although the pump itself still performs as designed. Any further assistance, I will MORE than happy to help any way I can
