Fuel Leak at the tank

Fuel Leak at the tank
Hey Guys,
Yeah, I am a noobie but not new to car forums.
I have tried the Search function but for some reason my pc doesn't like the search function here and times out of 1 or two searches....
Anyway,
I have a 2001 ZR2 with 113K on it.
I have a pretty good fuel leak on top of the tank, it is leaking and running down on the driver's side of the tank a pretty good amount.
I also have the spastic gas gauge issue.
I had a shop look at it and they seem to think it is the fuel lines themselves. Right near where the line comes across the tank and then turns toward the front, in the rubber grommet (?) you can see the fuel purcalating and leaking down.
Should I replace the pump ( what brand is best?) to fix the gas gas gauge and would it possibly just be a fuel leak at the pump that is following the lines to the grommet and seaping thru there???...
Thanks for any wisdom you could share here...
BTW, the shop quoted $900 to fix it
I guess I will be doing this one...

The fuel pump is an ALL-IN-ONE unit. The Pump / Associated Electronics / Float is clustered. That is about $550 of the $900 quote. As for the fuel gauge...live with it! It is a common problem with blazers (both of mine acted funny). Definitely not worth the $550 to replace it! If it still runs, count your blessings! Start running Marvel Mystery Oil in your tanks to prolong the life of the pump. And if you are worried about your truck running out of fuel, set the trip computer (one on the dash if you dont have the overhead one), and...a good rule of thumb is fueling up around 220 miles (roughly 15 of 18.5 gallons; if you get 15mpg)...don't want to let the tank get too low!!! I changed the pump TWICE on my old Blazer...don't want to deal with that again!

the fuel leak is huge, huge and it is getting to the point where you have to crank it a couple times to allow the system to build pressure so that it can start...
The leak has to be addressed and if I'm gonna drop the tank and pull the fuel lines then it would be silly not to switch the pump/sending unit because with my luck the pump would go the next week anyway...

I do know what you are saying there...**when it rains, it pours**
My pump went bad, because I was using Cheap Gas *cumberland farms*, and running it dry all the time...I didn't have the money for gas Well, that was the stock one, and it went at 138ish-K. The aftermarket one I replaced it with lasted all of about 12K before that burned out. Good thing it had a lifetime warranty!
If you are not a reckless teenager, and take care of your truck, then you might have luck in keeping that old pump of yours...I will ask my neighbor about his 96' (the thing has to be pushing 250k)
