Hi not sure if I am in the right forum, But here goes I seem to only be getting 11km per litre will be doing the plugs shortly, it has a new fuel pump mass air flow and intake have been cleaned Any suggestions to help me get better mileage? don't want to take the a/c out need that 39 celcius here today I have a 2002 chevy blazer stock 4door .. thanks Mike

 

Here are a few very basic things to check that will affect fuel economy: Brake drag, wheel alignment, tire pressure, correct tire size, fuel pressure and leakdown, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, camshaft retard adjustment, vacuum leaks, engine cooling system, exhaust restrictons, and make sure the check engine light is off.

 

I drive a '98 LS 4x4 4dr, getting consistent 24 mpg (11L/100km) by factory standards at 162.000 km I'm thinking that's pretty good, love to get more. I think Captain is on the right path, good maintenance program, wires plugs etc

 

24mpg is excellent! I've got a 98 & an 04, both 4X4, and both get 24+ on the highway. To get any better, it needs to be on a trailer or behind a tow truck

 

In my stock 2003 Blzr 4WD LS 2 dr auto, I am getting 16.2 to 17.2 in combined city/hwy driving. If I consistently got 24 mpg., would have a party and invie all my neighbors, even those who drove a Ford.

 

Heck yeah! I get excited if I can crack 19!!

 

I crack 22 mpg pretty regularly on the freeway (cruise set at 68-70). I notice a lot of people who mash the gas pedal constantly and set the cruise at 80+mph, and then wonder why their mpg is really bad

 

It would be a great thing to have such high mileage because you might have to go pick up your Ford-driving neighbors.

 

Toby I'm not going to pick them up. If I am buying the hamburgers and beer, they can either walk or drive the loaner car from the Ford dealer, which I hope is a Fiesta or an Escort.

 

I as well consistantly attain 22-24 mpg,but I live in pancake flat wide open terrain. But my Ford product exceeds that by almost 30%...a Lincoln Town Car that gets 27-29mpg! Its the fuel economy champ of my stable and I love relaxing on the couch when I drive...lol
