Default Fuel Pressure Regulator

I just got my new spider injector today. I noticed that the FPR looks different than the pictures that I have seen online and was looking for some input on the situation. As you can see in the picture below there is no 'nipple' for the hose to connect to. I noticed on FPRs on rockauto that they for the most part (I think one of them does not show it) have nipples.

The one I have just has a center hole. I am going to install the new spider tonight and was wondering if there was a transferable cover that allows the nipple to be attached or what.

Manifold vacuum is used to regulate fuel pressure. Low vacuum provides high fuel pressure, high vacuum provides low fuel pressure. There is no line that attaches to the nipple on CMFI & CSFI engines. The entire regulator is exposed to manifold vacuum inside the plenum. The small hole is all that's necessary for the back side of the diaphragm to be exposed to manifold vacuum.

ooooh that makes sense now. Thank you, I was getting paranoid. I kept thinking that I had the wrong part.

Nope, you got the right stuff. Make sure you put the injectors in the correct ports. It's labled on the housing which port each injector goes to, and it DOES make a difference with sequential fuel injection.

I got them in the right places. 1 needed to wrap around 3 to be next to 5 and 6-4-2 all line right up. The most difficult part for me was pushing the injector body through the port if you will.

But I got it installed and took her for a spin, sputtered a bit at first but I figured it was just relearning everything. Second time I started it up it was much smoother and didnt hesitate when I would take off. So far so good.

Cool, glad you got it! Hard to say what the sputter was, the injector upgrade is plug & play, no relearn involved. The new injectors connect to the same circuits that the old ones did, they're just relocated to the intake ports. There might be a change in long term fuel trim if the old injectors were clogged. Manually resetting fuel trims will speed that process up, but the PCM will correct them on its own over time.
