Fuel Pump Bad 2000 Blazer LS
Truck stopped running while driving. Wouldnt stay cranked.checked fuel pressure it was 58 when turned key over & stylized @ 52. I couldnt hear the pump come on either. So I replaced fuel pump. Had to rewire the harness. Now pressure reads 62 with key on & 58-60 stabilized. truck runs fine now look at that little bit of pressure cause my truck not to stay running?

Shortest best 'bad FP' thread since I've been here.

Note your FP gauge is probably off calibration. The actual pressures were probably 3-4 points lower.
Points out, though that it doesnt take much degradation in fuel pressure performance to knock the system off.
A mod to improve connection reliability

I agree good to see the truck runs great now
Pressure would be at ~58psi while running, up to 60psi under load (had the gauge up against the windscreen as I drove).
Anyway, at crank, pressure was 55, very hard starting. These things ('97 and up) need at a minimum, 60psi to fire. Amasing what 3 or 4 psi will do (or rather not do) Mine ended up being a small pin hole in the tube from the pump to the pump assembly top housing.
4 years later, still running great(Delphi pump)
I can't figure out where to start a new thread so I'll post up here... My 01' Blazer LS 4.3L has 90K miles and just started kind of sputtering/ losing power while I'm driving. Almost like I'm running out of gas. Someone told me it was prob my fuel pump. I just fixed my a/c and changed oil/ oil pump right before the problem started if that may have something to do with it.. going on a road trip so I need to fix it ASAP. I was going to take it to the shop but I'm broke as a joke. Any suggestions? Or any Idea how much the shop would charge?

For a 150 deposit, I would rent a fuel pressure gauge & check your pressure, if u cant hear the pump come on when you turn the key over chances are its the pump, but I would check pressure & fuel pump relay b4 spending 300$ on a pump. Took me 3hrs to do, and im not a mechanic. Probably cost double to have a shop do it
