Fuel Pump Connectors
I swapped out my fuel pump over the weekend. It was intermittent just after installation. I was able to isolate it to the connections at the pump. My fuel guage is also reading E after driving it a few miles.
Are the connectors typically supposed to be swapped when swapping the pump?

those connectors can be sensitive, they could have been hurt during removel of the pump. but what are driving(year, eng), that info will help u more. but defintely sound bad
It's a `98 4.3L. It's no big deal.... I was just curious if these connectors were problematic. I saw where there was a TSB on some years where the connector at the fuel pump relay was problematic as far as it dropping some of the 12V which caused there to be a lack of current to the pump due to the lower voltage. This not being my case, I still wondered about the tank connectors.
BTW guys....here's an update that hopefully will help someone in the future. I pulled the pump on Saturday after measuring good voltage at the connector. I then bench tested the fuel pump and it was good as well. I also bench tested my original - good!! The connector female side had the contact bent down to the point where it wasn't making good contact with the pump. I pryed it up and reinstalled my original pump and I'm good to go. I also returned the new pump and got 300.00 back to boot!!!
