Gas Filter
Tried changing my gas filter on my 2000 Blazer yesterday, the nut on the inlet side is so rusted, I can't break it loose, I even doused it with PB Blaster a couple times last night so I'll try it this morning again. I am not one to admit defeat but it sounds like it might go across the street to my mechanic. Does anyone have any tricks they used that might help me ?
When mine was frozen I disconnected the quick disconnect toward the motor. Then there's a single bolt that holds the plastic bracket on the frame with the filter in it and it routes the lines on the frame, remove the bolt, remove the lines from the plastic holder, slide the plastic holder off the filter (spit lube helps) and then unscrew the filter from the line. Now spray some PB Blaster on it and let it soak on, it's easier to break the nut loose with no filter on it - don't twist the steel line.
Vise grips or swapping out the line,, I tried a torch once,, didn't fair to well,, J/K!! Dont try this at home, I was a professional,,, We have the same issue in Ohio,, dang salt trucks,,,, keep soaking with PB blaster,, Matty man
