gas smell
just bought a 99 blazer, on the way home i noticed there was a strong gas smell in the cabin. any ideas what would cause this?

RE: gas smell
Could be from several places, but you need to locate it ASAP if for no other reason than safety's sake.

yeah no kidding.... i read on another page in here about a vapor control valve. im kinda thinking thats that problem. the blazer has been sitting sense February of last year so there is bound to be some things wrong with it. and i might add i think i got a good deal on it. its a 1999 with 120000 miles in good shape, no dents rust or anything like that. all for $1950. pretty good right?

RE: gas smell
sounds like a good deal until it goes on fire!!!! Check the vapor canister which is located on the drivers side rear behind the bumper end cap...dat aint sumtin i would wait to fix,, Vapors leaking usually means explosion afterwards..
