I have a 96 4dr and was wondering why my dash gauges do not return to their low end readings when I turn the truck off. When I turn the truck off after its daily runs the speedometer/rpms will stay at the 550-600 mark. The oil gauge will stay at the 40 reading and the temp gauge will stay at the mark as to the current operating temp when the truck is turned off. If I turn the key back on/engine off and then back off again the rpms will drop to the zero mark and the oil and temp gauges will drop to the low end readings on their respective gauges. the truck does this all the time. What would cause this and why. Should I be concerned.

My 1995 chevy s10 blazer did the same thing. When I drive it my temperature gauage don't get over 100 and my rpm when i turned the motor off it won't go back to 0 so i have to tap the dashboard and it go back to 0. I am trying to figure out what caused it too.
