Default Gear Indicator and Gas Gauge do NOT work at all

Earlier today, the gauges work working fine. When I started it up later, the LOW FUEL light was on, fuel gauge all the way empty and the battery light was on. The gear indicator lights (PRND321) do not light up eitherI had the hood up for about 20min earlier today soI thoughthat might be why the battery light is on. I knew I was low on gas so I rushed to a gas station and filled up. After I turned my truck on after filling up, the symptoms were exactly the same. Battery icon was on, fuel gauge all the way down, gear lights aren't working right and the little compass/temp thing in the overhead console doesn't work either. I cycled it through all the dfferent modes (compass/inst mpg/avg mpg/range/fuel used/avg speed) and they all had two horizontal dashes rather than numbers.

The picture below was taken while in DRIVE just after filling up.I took a little videoclip with my phone but whenI try playing it on my PC, it says "sample error". If it is still doing it tomorrow,I'll try and get a vid.Yes, I know it says I'm idling just below 0rpmbut that is an unrelated problem caused by taking out the needle and putting it back in wrong. The voltage gauge is slightly above the correct spot as well (16V rather than 12V)

Any idea why?

Default RE: Gear Indicator and Gas Gauge do NOT work at all

I got it fixed, I checked all the fuses this morning and the 4WD fuse in interior fuse panel was sticking out a little ways. I'm not sure how that could have happened but I just pressed it in and the dash works correctly now.

Whoa, Thanks. I had the same problem and after days of looking, i found your post and the 4X4 fuse is what the problem was. Thanks again.
