Default got a random clicking noise

hey guys, i have a random clicking noise from behind the glovebox it does it from time to time. at times it sounds just like a blinker click, and at other times it kinda sounds like an abs module activating. any ideas on what could cause this random noise.

Anything acting up? If not..I wouldn't worry about it. I can hear the same noise on mine from time to time.

I'm 99% sure my clicking is due to a bad multi-function switch. Does the clicking noise stop when you step on the brake pedal? Unfortunately, mine doesn't effect the operation of the brake lights so I don't think it is eligible for the factory fix.

i am not sure if it is affecting anything or not. as far as brake lights i guess they are still on. i am driving so hard to tell. i do notice it more when i am stopped at a light or something. also, i can make the clicking sound by wiggling the turn signal lever. not the fast clicking but the one thta sounds like a signal is on.

I share your frustration and problem. I never noticed any problem before a "recall" replaced the multi-function switch inthe steering column. Now I think my Blazer could be a test fixture for Bosch relay torture tests. A lot of the info that I have found points to this switch, I have found them several places and even though I dislike pointing to Ebay as a parts source I have found the switch on there for about $110 plus shipping.

so if the clicking stops when you press the brake pedal, does that point to the multi-function?

also, i saw the recall for the 2000 but i have a 99 and did not see any recall for that year.

note-i am also posting on

trying to figure out how to remove the multifunction
