Default Headlight system always on

I must have done something

Head;ight system, not DRL, comes on when I put key in ignition and stay on even while cranking and strtimg engine.

This is a 2005. it just started doing this. Did I push something? I have read that there are some switches that if you push them several times...things happen.

Thanks

Sounds to me like you have a short somewhere. Like your vehicle is reading your headlights as on all the time. from the point your key goes in until removed. may want to look into a new junkyard light switch, or do the right thing, find the resistances and what not, volt meter that bad boy, and be sure, or just drop $5 on a junkyard switch...

Could be a faulty light sensor on the dash.

A DTC could also cause it. I had a few U codes from when I swapped in a new air bag module. The headlights were always on, until I cleared the codes with a tech 2. Everything has been working properly since then.

Thanks guys

Problem seems to have solved itself for the moment. I went out last night to store. On the way I started playing with the headlight switch...dome overide...the lights went off while moving. I quickly turned them on with the switch and that was seemingly the end of the problem.

Mow DRL come on only when in gear and headlights work on switch

Maybe it is a gremlin that might return. I'll keep your suggestions in mind

Thanks again
