Default Heat stays on. Noise from glove box area.

2000 Chevy S-10 Blazer - It started in the winter, the heat was not as hot as I was used to. I also noticed that every time that I started to accelerate I heard noise that sounds like a squeaking sound from the glove box area. Now that it is getting warmer outside and I don't need the heat on and want to use the air condition or the vent air it does not work. I continue to get constant heat no matter what option that I have the control **** turned to. I have a control **** that has the auto function, dash or vents. All options have heat coming out of each. I tried to research what the problem could be. Would anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the actuator?
